Simplify Sales Tax A guide to the Streamlined Sales Tax program

Providers

Exactor as an SST Certified Service Provider

Exactor is one of the six providers whose systems are certified by the Streamlined Sales Tax states, and it is the one the Governing Board lists as not currently offering free services under the CSP program. The Board routes contact for Exactor to Intuit. This profile reports what the Board publishes, and the Board publishes very little.

Hold onto that last point while you read the rest. Exactor is a sales tax calculation and compliance provider whose system is certified under the Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement, and which the Governing Board identifies as “a subsidiary of Intuit.” It was absorbed into QuickBooks and has no independent web presence today. The Board’s certified service provider list is the primary record of its status, and the Board’s Exactor detail page routes contact to US-SalesTax@Intuit.com and to Intuit’s QuickBooks sales tax page.

So its position among the six differs in kind, not in degree. Avalara, TaxCloud, Sovos, AccurateTax, and Avior each publish an SST page you can read. Exactor doesn’t, so a like-for-like profile isn’t available. What follows tells you where the record ends rather than guessing past it.

Is Exactor certified, and does it offer free CSP services?

Yes to the first, no to the second, and the Board says both halves in one present-tense sentence:

“The following CSP’s systems are certified by the Streamlined Sales Tax States, but they are not currently offering free services under Streamlined’s CSP program.”

Exactor is the single entry under that heading. The other five certified providers appear under the Board’s list of providers offering free services. That is the whole of the published position. Nothing published explains the reason.

What certified but not offering free services means for your shortlist

Certification and free services are two different things, and the distinction applies to any provider the Board may list this way in future.

  • Certification attaches to the software and to the provider as an agent. A Certified Automated System is software approved under the Agreement to calculate the tax each jurisdiction imposes on a transaction, work out the amount to remit to the right state, and keep a record of it. The Board’s own description of the arrangement is that every member state has certified the accuracy of the software and will provide liability relief for an incorrect calculation based on that certification.
  • Free services are a compensation arrangement, not a discount. The Board’s position is that a provider should not charge you for the certified services in any member state where you meet the contract’s definition of a CSP-compensated seller, because the state pays it instead.

Two things follow for how you read the list of six. Count the field by what you need rather than by the headline number: six providers are certified, and if your requirement is free CSP services under the CSP-compensated seller test, the field is five. And check the Board’s list rather than a vendor page, because free-services status is published by the Board and it can change.

What does Exactor actually do?

Not published, as of August 19, 2026. The Board’s listing carries no service description for Exactor, and there is no Exactor SST page to read. For what the certified services consist of in general, see what a Certified Service Provider is.

What does Exactor integrate with?

Not published, as of August 19, 2026. No integration list, connector directory, or platform support statement is published or linked from the Board’s listing. Contact is routed to Intuit, which tells you where to write, not what the certified system connects to. The Board doesn’t say QuickBooks’ sales tax features and Exactor’s certified system are the same thing, so this profile doesn’t say it either.

What does Exactor cost?

Not applicable, and not published, as of August 19, 2026. There is no published price and no published pricing model. For what the other five publish, including the three that publish no figures either, see what an SST Certified Service Provider costs.

How does Exactor handle support?

Not published, as of August 19, 2026. No support terms, hours, or channels are published. The Board’s Exactor detail page gives an Intuit email address and a link to Intuit’s QuickBooks sales tax page, and that is the published route in full.

Best fit for: no profile the published record supports

On what the Governing Board publishes, we can’t name a seller profile for which Exactor is a fit for SST purposes as of August 19, 2026. There is no published service scope, price, or support term to match against your requirements. That is a statement about the available record, not about the company.

Not a fit for

  • You’re choosing a certified provider because you want the free CSP services. The Board lists Exactor as not currently offering them, so that motivation isn’t served here.
  • You need to evaluate before you talk to anyone. With no published service description, pricing, or integration list, you can’t reach a shortlist decision on public information.
  • You’re running a documented procurement. Evaluation criteria that require published terms have nothing published to score against.

Sources, and when this profile was last checked

Profile last checked: August 19, 2026. Free-services status is the one fact here that would rewrite the page if it changed, so re-check it before you rely on any of this.

What this profile cannot tell you. It is short because the record is short. The Board publishes a certification status, a free-services status, and a contact route, and nothing else, so the sections above stop at not published rather than filling gaps with inference. Nothing here is legal or tax advice.
